Indian States Situated on the Border:

Pakistan: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir (4 states share their borders with Pakistan.

China: Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh (5 states borders with China)

Nepal: Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim (5 Indian states shares its border with Nepal)

Bhutan: Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh ( 4 states shares border with Bhutan)

Bangladesh: West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram (5 Indian states shares border with Bangladesh)

Myanmar: Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram ( 4 Indian states shares its border with Myanmar)

Afghanistan: Jammu & Kashmir (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir)

Important Note:

Bangladesh and India share a 4,096-kilometer (2,545-mile) long international border, the fifth-longest land border in the world.

The state of “Jammu & Kashmir” actually has 3176 km of international border with Pakistan, China and Afghanistan.

But, due to border disputes and wars, India lost significant amount of land in Jammu & Kashmir making the International border just 2000 km.

West Bengal which has 2500 km of International border with Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal has the longest international border.

Indian state with smallest (least) international border length is Nagaland (215 km).

  • Southern most point: Indira Point or Pigmallion point in Great Nicobar
  • Southern most tip of mainland: Kanyakumari
  • Northernmost point: Indira Col
  • Western most point: West of Ghaur Mota in Gujarat
